Mark H. Christy

An avid outdoorsman his entire life, Mark enjoys capturing nature and wildlife images - sunrises in Maine, sunsets in Key West, grizzly bears in Alaska, mountain goats in Colorado, wading birds in Florida and wild ponies in Virginia, which earned him the back cover on an Audubon Wild Animal calendar.

Some of his most admired photographs are from his home, western Pennsylvania, where "the next season" has always been his favorite.  Mark's "Common Milkweed" and Houghton Lake "Sunrise" were selected for juried shows of the Natural World Photographic Competition at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

His photographs have also appeared in the Outdoor Traveler (Mid-Atlantic) magazine, the Helme Tobacco Company newsletter, the Western Pa. Balloon Quest, Inc. promotional brochure and the 2000 Sierra Club engagement calendar.

Mark's nature photographs have also inspired a professional weaver, who has incorporated the patterns, textures and colors into hand-woven works.  These beautiful pieces form the basis of a weaving workshop titled "Inspirations from Nature".
